The battle continues between AMD and Intel on the processor front.  With AMD's upcoming Socket AM2 processor, expected around June of 2006, the fight continues.

With the coming release of Intel's ICM (Intel Core Microarchitecture) design sometime in Q3 of this year, Intel claims to have the lead with a 20% increase over anything AMD can come out with.  We've all heard this before.  Let the marketing campaigns begin!

Hopefully, virtualization will get an added boost with AMD's Socket AM2 processors.  We are looking forward to it, and the upcoming quad-core processors which should greatly help with system virtualization.
