These past few days have seen the rumor mill working double shifts to keep up with all of the "news" centered around Wyse.
The big news was the announcement of Wyse and VMware teaming up where we discussed it here.
Now, the rumors are spreading about Wyse in talks with Google and Yahoo to help design and produce low-priced computers integrating data, voice, and broadband connectivity to help capture millions of users in developing countries. The news was first found while reading an article on SiliconValleyWatcher. The rumors go on to include other companies such as AOL, Amazon, and Ebay were all exploring similar approaches.
These rumors aren't new. Google has always been rumored to be working on such a device. Remember Goobuntu? Where Google was supposedly building their own commercial version of the Linux distribution of Ubuntu?
Wyse is certainly generating a lot of buzz right now. It will be interesting to see what they ultimately come out with.
