Quoting from Business Wire:
Softricity yesterday kicked off their Virtualization Tour with Microsoft field teams at an inaugural sold-out seminar at the Microsoft Office in New York City. As part of a campaign to introduce the power of virtualization to customers, the field force from both companies will host over 10 seminars world-wide focused on integrating application virtualization and streaming into Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003.
The half-day event is designed to help attendees better understand how application virtualization can help accelerate application deployments via SMS, reduce the costs of application deployment and management, and make their business more agile and dynamic. Softricity and Microsoft will present and lead an interactive, hands-on demonstration of application virtualization and streaming within an SMS infrastructure.
As part of the seminar, Microsoft and Softricity will demonstrate the latest version of Systems Management Server (SMS) and the recently released Softricity SoftGrid(R) for Microsoft SMS product, which helps IT administrators instantly gain all the benefits of application virtualization, on-demand streaming and self-provisioning from within the SMS infrastructure. SoftGrid for Microsoft SMS provides a single management interface for both locally installed and virtualized applications. It offers customers the flexibility to push entire virtualized applications to client computers using SMS application deployment delivery or deliver them on-demand with Softricity's streaming software technology--or both.
"Softricity is pleased to be working with the Microsoft manageability field to show enterprises how to easily leverage virtualization and streaming within SMS," said Art Matin, CEO, Softricity. "Both Microsoft and Softricity are pioneers in their markets. Integrating SoftGrid with SMS means enterprises can have all the benefits hundreds of Softricity customers have already gained, including an 80% reduction in application management costs and accelerated software deployments."
