I am happy to announce that my new book, Advanced Server Virtualization: VMware and Microsoft Platforms in the Virtual Data Center, went to the printer on April 14th, and should be delivered to the distributors around May 17th. While this date is not set in stone, it appears to be an accurate date based on conversations with the publisher. I, along with the other authors of the book, would like to thank everyone for their patience while waiting for the book release, as well as for the numerous well wishes along the way. We hope you enjoy the book and gain a better understanding of a topic we all enjoy and believe in, virtualization.
Advanced Server Virtualization emphasizes the design, implementation and management of server virtualization from both a technical and a consultative point of view. It provides practical guides and examples, such as how to properly size and evaluate virtualization technologies. It is founded not in theory, but based on real world experiences in implementing and managing large scale projects and environments. The book focuses on the core knowledge needed to evaluate, implement, and maintain an environment that is using server virtualization.
The book is divided into major sections to make it both a step-by-step guide on learning and implementing server virtualization as well as a quick reference. The chapter organization focuses first on introducing concepts and background, and then provides real-world scenarios.
