SWsoft Plesk Upgrades Include Multi-Server Management Solution

Quoting from TheHostingNews.com

Website hosting automation company, SWsoft, has released Plesk Expand 2.0 in order to give hosting providers more comprehensive features to efficiently manage multiple Plesk servers from a single point.

According to the company, the new Plesk Expand database management feature allows administrators to centrally manage MySQL, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server database servers with the latest versions of the Plesk control panel for Linux, UNIX or Windows.

Kurt Daniel, Vice President, Marketing and Alliances at SWsoft offered, ''We have taken the feedback from hundreds of our customers and partners to deliver more robust management features to centrally and easily control databases, DNS, mail and domains on multiple Plesk servers. Plesk Expand 2.0 represents an opportunity for service providers seeking to reduce their operating costs and increase their bottom lines by managing growing numbers of Plesk servers more effectively.''

Plesk Expand was developed for the Plesk suite of products to combine multiple Plesk servers into an integrated hosting platform.  Plesk Expand endeavors to give hosting professionals the ability to centrally manage Linux, FreeBSD, Fedora Core, CentOS and Windows Plesk servers.

In addition, Plesk Expand offers a web-based automatic installation, enabling hosting providers instant implementation of a centralized infrastructure based on their existing Plesk servers.  The software's XML API capabilities allow you to integrate Plesk Expand with any of your existing infrastructure, such as billing and other applications.

Plesk Expand 2.0 top features include:

· New Centralized DB - Hosting Providers now have the ability to manage central MySQL, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server database servers using the latest versions of Plesk.

· New Multi-Server Clients - Clients can have domains on multiple Plesk servers that can be managed from a single interface. Existing Plesk client accounts can be easily transitioned into these new Expand client accounts.

· Broader OS Support - Hosting providers have a wider range of OSes to choose from: Additional OS support includes Red Hat Fedora Core 2 (SELinux mode is also supported), Red Hat Fedora Core 3 (SELinux mode is also supported), CentOS 3.3 and CentOS 3.4.

· Updated Centralized DNS - This new version of the software has a broader range of Central DNS service abilities. Now, the user can create external DNS master servers (not only slave ones) and edit their SOA settings.

· Improvements to Centralized Mail - There are significant improvements to the Centralized Mail feature, including easier to use monitoring and conflict resolution systems.

· Centralized Windows Mail Servers - Now MailEnable, Merak and SmarterMail systems can be used as a centrally located mail server with Expand and Plesk for Windows.
