Nixperience today announced the release of NixVPS, a Virtual Private Server Solution, providing Small Medium Enterprises/Businesses (SME/SMBs) and web host providers alike, the ability to harness the functionality of a dedicated server at a fraction of the cost, and the ability to leverage on a robust and sturdy server virtualization environment for all their business needs.

Utilizing the XEN virtualization system, NixVPS is able to partition a single physical server into many isolated virtual private servers where each virtual private server looks and behaves exactly like a real networked server system, complete with its own configuration files, own versions of system libraries and its own control on users, processes, and file system.

NixVPS provides immediate benefits over a shared server solution where one is able to gain immediate full control of the NixVPS instance, secure the file system away from any prying eyes in an isolated environment while maintaining direct access to a set of guaranteed resources.

Unlike other Virtual Private Server solutions, NixVPS does not allow allocated memory to be shared nor is burstable among different users. The physical memory and physical disk space is split up and allocated to each NixVPS instance as a dedicated resource. This restricts the provider from overselling while ensuring that each NixVPS instance gains access to its dedicated resource as required.

The key features of a NixVPS instance include
- Each has its own processes, users, files and provides full root access
- Each has its own IP addresses, port numbers, ip tables, filtering and routing rules
- Each can have its own configuration files for the system and app software
- Each can have its own versions of system libraries or modify existing ones
- Each can delete, add, modify any file, including files in /root, and install its own application software or custom configure/modify root application software
