Virtualization makes its way into the keynote address at this year's Microsoft TechEd 2006 event.
Of course it did! It's everywhere you want to be! Virtualization, in whatever form, hardware virtualization, OS services virtualization, or application virtualization - it is what everyone is talking about. People ask: How can I make use of it in my company? What features does it offer me? How easy is it to learn and use? Everyone is asking, except for the readers of this blog site, and blog sites like it.
Why? Because we already know the value of virtualization. We understand it, we embrace it, we use it in some form or fashion in our regular lives... whether it is at home or in the office. We don't need to see ROIs, or TCOs to understand the value.
If you want to see what Bob Muglia has to say, I invite you to watch the Webcast of the keynote address. You can find it, here.
Skip to about 50 minutes into the presentation if you want to jump right ahead to where they start discussing virtualization.
And then, keep watching as Bill Anderson provides a demo of Windows Server virtualization and Virtual Machine Manager.
