Dennis Moreau, chief technology officer of Configuresoft, will talk about virtualization, security configuration policy and compliance at the upcoming Forrester Security Forum.
The event is set for Sept. 8 at the InterContinental Buckhead. Forrester is an international consulting and analysis firm.
Configuresoft is a provider of systems management technology based in Colorado.
"While virtualization technologies hold out the promise of better IT asset utilization, more agile IT asset allocation, and a more secure and consolidated IT infrastructure, they also introduce new complexities into IT configuration policy compliance efforts," Moreau said. "Compliance must be addressed in the context of both host and guest configuration policies. Policy consistency and configuration compatibility at the application, service, operating system and virtual asset level will emerge as core assessment issues."
Used of virtualization include the enabling the operation of more than one operating system on machines as well as consolidation of servers and aggregation of IT resources.
