Untangling the relationships between the physical and virtual worlds
Using virtualization techniques, IT organizations can save costs by
consolidating server instances; more quickly deploy and provision
virtual machines; and keep legacy systems running by simulating the
older platforms. The advantages are seemingly endless. Yet with
virtualization comes increased management complexity due to additional
layers of abstraction which obscure the underlying systems and create
further dependencies that must be tracked. This makes it difficult to
get critical information on how the IT environment is configured, and
to understand how it supports the business applications.
In this webinar, Galen Schreck, senior analyst and virtualization
industry expert with Forrester Research and Adam Kerrison, CTO of
Tideway Systems, will help participants better understand how to
manage virtual environments and ultimately take the complexity out of
them by creating a clearer picture of the entire IT landscape.
