RELDATA, pioneer of a new generation of universal IP storage virtualization appliances, today announced the new RELDATA IP Storage Gateway 9400 featuring the latest 4 Gbps Fibre Channel connectivity and a new version of its
TrueBlock™ storage virtualization software platform. New highlights of the IP 9400 are dual 4 Gbps Fibre Channel ports, robust multi-path and failover, ability to seamlessly resize volumes and file systems on the fly, plus a dramatically improved throughput for I/O intensive storage environments.
The RELDATA IP Storage Gateway 9400 is the successor to the IP 9200 and builds upon its technical innovations. It provides universal IP SAN and NAS virtualization of the fastest Fibre Channel arrays and FC SANs. RELDATA’s new TrueBlock™ software platform lets users dynamically expand virtual volumes to meet the challenges of managing today’s unrelenting data growth. Its throughput improvements ensure applications can fully exploit the full potential of unifying IP and FC-based storage architectures. Included in RELDATA’s TrueBlock™ software platform are truly parallel iSCSI SAN and CIFS/NFS NAS access to shared storage resources and industry-leading block-level snapshot, incremental replication and remote mirroring capabilities for complete data protection and disaster recovery.
“ESG Research discovered that 83% of iSCSI adopters are deploying iSCSI for file based content to address the massive unstructured data growth challenges and iSCSI planned adopters remain concerned about interoperability issues with their existing networked storage infrastructure and DAS environments,” said Mark Bowker, Analyst for Enterprise Strategy Group. “RELDATA’s IP Storage Gateway 9400 offers an attractive set of performance, connectivity and availability features combined with an embedded software platform incorporating robust data protection and disaster recovery capabilities.”
The 9400 incorporates six 1 GbE ports and two Ultra SCSI ports in addition to the dual 4 Gbps FC ports providing flexible connectivity preserving existing Fibre Channel, SCSI and iSCSI storage investments. Universal IP storage solutions based on RELDATA 9400 reduce capital expenditures to meet growth and mitigate future storage spending by maximizing utilization and lessening administration costs through centralized universal IP storage management. In total, RELDATA offers exceptional value to enterprises with fast-growing mixed file and block storage volumes, narrow data recovery point and time objectives, or data protection of multi-site locations.
“Enterprise customers who require the most robust, high-performance IP storage and replication solutions of their business-critical information will be pleased to find that the IP 9400 storage virtualization appliance provides the functionality, openness, speed, reliability and cost reduction that have become hallmarks of RELDATA solutions,” said Boris Anderer, president and CEO of RELDATA. “The combination of the latest hardware and our next generation software in the new 9400 offers a solution for unending data growth, storage consolidation and data protection at an unrivaled price/performance ratio.”
