XenSource Launches Partner Program for XenEnterprise
New Program Enables ISVs and IHVs to Collaborate on Development of Products Supporting XenEnterprise -- Accelerating Adoption of Open Source Virtualization and Improving User Experience

PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 13, 2006 -- XenSource, Inc., the leader in infrastructure virtualization solutions based on the open source Xen™ hypervisor, today introduced a partner program that will leverage relationships with independent software vendors (ISVs) and independent hardware vendors (IHVs) to develop high performance products for virtualized environments based on Xen technology. The new partner program, which will broaden the XenEnterprise ecosystem, already includes more than 45 global market leaders and is a natural extension of the Xen open source ecosystem.

"Enterprises face a myriad of decisions when mapping out how to virtualize their data centers, and the need for virtualization is only increasing. XenSource was born out of the spirit of Xen and open source, so it's only natural for us to work closely with a broad set of vendors to ensure interoperability and collaborate on joint development," said Benn Schreiber, director of business development at XenSource. "This program empowers partners to leverage XenEnterprise's core technology to provide secure, manageable, high performance virtualization solutions to customers."

Three Levels of Partnership

The new program will offer companies three levels of participation, each providing a level of integration that best suits the member company:

-- Technology Partners: for companies interested in increasing awareness
of the virtualization support provided by their products through the
XenSource website partner pages, which will highlight solutions by
    category.

-- Premier Partners: for companies seeking a more integrated marketing
strategy that includes joint PR and branding; shared collateral such as
white papers, case studies, and solution descriptions; and participation at
XenSource user conferences. Additionally, XenSource will invest in co-
marketing initiatives including channel partnerships and interoperability
    and compliance testing.

-- Strategic Partners: for companies committed to XenSource technology,
this level of partnership is by invitation only and includes long-range,
fundamental engineering interactions; development and optimization
activities; and co-marketing initiatives including channel tie-ins.

"XenSource and Microsoft have been working closely around virtualization interoperability, such as our co-development agreement to deliver interoperability between Xen-enabled Linux guests and the new Microsoft Windows hypervisor technology that will be an integrated component of Windows Server Longhorn," said Mike Neil, senior director of virtualization strategy at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft's goal is to provide customers and partners the most integrated, comprehensive and cost-effective virtualization solution. Our work with XenSource, a leader in open source virtualization technology, aids Microsoft's ongoing efforts to bring interoperable virtualization solutions to the mainstream and help customers progress toward self-managing dynamic systems."

"Citrix is pleased to be a charter member of the XenSource Partner Program," stated Scott Herren, group vice president and general manager, for Citrix Systems. "XenSource is a key partner for our Dynamic Desktop Initiative which enables Windows Desktops to be delivered via Citrix infrastructure to any device, anywhere."

"Intel has been working with the open source community on advancing virtualization capability since its early conception," said Ram Peddibhotla, director of Open Source Technology Center at Intel. "Our goal is to have the Xen hypervisor take advantage of our roadmap of powerful enhancements to Intel® Virtualization Technology on our platforms, and foster an ecosystem that builds upon this capability to create a virtual dynamic enterprise with high performance dependable solutions. We support XenSource in their effort to advocate Xen to the enterprise."

"AMD is pleased to partner with XenSource as a strategic alliance partner," said Joe Menard, corporate vice president, AMD. "We support their advocacy of Xen, the open source virtualization project, and we plan to continue to work closely with them on efforts to speed the availability, robustness, and readiness of Xen for enterprise deployments."

"Our customers want to manage servers, physical or virtual, through the same system, through a common interface, so we are extending our support to the XenEnterprise virtual machine environment," said Dusty Pritchett, executive vice president of global marketing at Avocent Corporation. "Avocent's 'always-on' data center management solutions are used in data centers around the world for access and control of the server infrastructure. Over time, we plan to expand our integration efforts with XenSource across our product family into the desktop and the embedded environments."

"Cassatt and XenSource are working together to help our customers use virtualization and automation to control costs and make their data centers more dynamic," said Gamiel Gran, vice president of channels and sales operations for Cassatt. "Cassatt automates the management of both the physical and virtual components of large, diverse data centers. To support this partnership, Cassatt has announced that we will provide management capabilities for XenEnterprise guests in the next version of Cassatt Collage™ Cross-Virtualization Manager (XVM). In addition, Cassatt can offer XenEnterprise alongside our products -- a very compelling combination. We're helping customers turn their vision of utility computing into a reality."

All partners will have early access to technical specifications, and participate in the XenEnterprise Beta programs. There is no fee for charter members who join by December 1, 2006. For more information or to apply for the program, go to www.xensource.com/partners
