Axio Systems to Present Intelligent File Virtualization Seminar
Axio Systems, one of the foremost providers of high-end technology solutions to its many customers in Belgium will present a seminar entitled, Intelligent File Virtualization: Have You Seen My File? on Thursday, January 25, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. 4:30 p.m. (14h00 16h30) in Zaventem, Belgium, featuring speakers from Acopia Networks®, Inc., a leader in high-performance intelligent file virtualization, and Sun Microsystems, a premier provider of technologies that power the world's most important markets.

The agenda will include Philippe De Meyer, consultant, Axio Systems, speaking on how to handle complex data growth and management; Filip Vercauteren, solutions architect, Storage Group, Sun Microsystems Belgium, will deliver a technology refresh on network-attached storage; and Patrick Van Arendonk, manager Benelux, Acopia Networks, will present a file area network (FAN) approach for optimizing file management. The formal remarks will be followed by a demonstration of file virtualization technology.

The rapid growth of file data, often driven by new applications, such as SOA and Web 2.0, is creating a complexity crisis that can only be addressed by a network resident solution. Taking a page from the success of server virtualization, the new concept of FAN, or file area networking, brings the power of virtualization to storage and networking allowing users to reduce cost and complexity while regaining control, said Van Arendonk. I look forward to discussing this topic in greater detail with the attendees, as well as my industry colleagues.

We are honored to join with Axio Systems and Acopia to discuss how file servers and/or NAS systems can be networked in an intelligent fashion to enable transparent movement of data between storage tiers, centralize data protection, and significantly reduce cost and complexity, said Vercauteren. I believe customers will benefit greatly from the information, as well as the hands-on demonstration opportunity, this seminar will present.

The topic for this seminar was driven by the fact that we were consistently hearing from customers that the challenges they were facing around the insurmountable growth of widely distributed, unstructured file data was a key challenge that needed to be tackled in the coming year, said De Meyer. We are delighted to be able to join with Sun and Acopia true leaders in their respective spaces, to discuss such a timely and critical topic for our customers.
