LocaWeb, the largest hosting provider in Brazil, today announced it has launched Virtual Private Server (VPS) services using Virtuozzo software from SWsoft, a recognized leader in server automation and virtualization software.
"Our goal is to guarantee high efficiency and management to companies of all sizes, bringing to the Brazilian market the best solution available today," said Gilberto Mautner, vice president of Innovation and Technology, LocaWeb.
Hosting services are a growing segment of the emerging Internet economy in Brazil. According to recent statistics, 30 million people in Brazil – 16 percent of the total population of 188 million – use the Internet.1
"SWsoft is excited to partner with market leader LocaWeb to deliver the best VPS services to their customers, both large and small, in Latin America," said Kurt Daniel, vice president of marketing and alliances, SWsoft. "Virtuozzo provides a cost-efficient solution that will enable LocaWeb to deliver a greater variety of hosting services with minimal resources and cost, and take advantage of improved integration resulting from our ongoing OPEN FUSION initiative."
Virtuozzo operating system virtualization software uses patented technology to create multiple, isolated virtual environments - or virtual private servers - on a single physical server and operating system, making the most efficient use of hardware, software and other resources.
OPEN FUSION is a SWsoft technology initiative to move its entire line of products to a common platform to advance integration among a wide range of systems, third-party applications and modules, and custom and in-house solutions.
