Longhorn Server is just around the corner. In fact, Beta 3 is coming out soon enough. Unfortunately, not everyone will have the ability to install Longhorn on a machine in their office or datacenter, so one option would be to install it inside of a virtual machine. Microsoft is also making it available as a Virtual Lab. They just recently released three on-demand virtual labs, free to use, and they take between 2 and 3 hours depending on the lab. In order to use these labs, you have to be registered as a Microsoft Partner.
