Egenera Inc., the data center virtualization company, today announced that it has been awarded "Best Virtualization Product" at BladeSystems Insight, the only national summit focused on blade-based data center solutions. Recognized worldwide for pioneering a new computing architecture -- the Processing Area Network (PAN) -- Egenera data center virtualization solutions attack the root cause of data center complexity to deliver an integrated, virtualized, agile platform designed for critical applications.
Voted on by attendees, the Insight Award for "Best Virtualization Product" recognizes the most innovative virtualization solution that drives the greatest business value for end-users. Susan Davis, vice president of marketing, Egenera, also participated on a featured panel titled, "Rise of Virtualization in the Data Center" along with executives from AMD, Citrix, IBM and Intel.
"Egenera's knowledge and leadership pertaining to virtualization greatly enhanced discussions around data center solutions at BladeSystems Insight," said Philip McKay, president and CEO, PPM Media Inc., producer of the event. "Egenera's philosophy and approach to the data center are quite unique and effective, and this was recognized by our IT executive attendees through their votes for the Best Virtualization Product award. We congratulate Egenera on this well-deserved honor."
"Feedback from the industry is an important means of judging a solution's relevance to the market," said Susan Davis, vice president at Egenera. "This award is further validation that the value we bring to combat data center complexity is unique and needed. We're gratified for the recognition from the organizers and attendees at BladeSystems Insight."
Egenera was founded in 2000 by the former CTO of Goldman Sachs who sought to reduce the complexity and improve competitive advantage in his own environment with an agile, virtualized data center. Today, hundreds of forward thinking companies trust their most critical applications to Egenera every day.
