Acopia Networks
®, Inc., the leader in intelligent file virtualization, today announced that it will showcase its ARX
™ systems and FreedomFabric
™ operating system software at IBM PartnerWorld 2007, taking place this week, April 29
– May 2 in St. Louis, Missouri, in
booth #307.
During the event, Acopia will highlight its ARX systems’ ability to simplify file storage management, helping customers to manage the growth, complexity, and cost of unstructured, file data. By providing automatic, policy-driven, data migration, tiering, load balancing, and replication across multi-vendor storage environments, the ARX systems help IT executives to reduce costs and management overhead, and accelerate business workflow.
Acopia’s FreedomFabric network operating system software delivers the industry's first platform-neutral, network-based, file virtualization solution. By replacing the traditional static mapping between users and storage with a dynamic virtualization layer, FreedomFabric software separates logical access from physical location, masking changes at either end. Management operations that were once manual and disruptive become automatic and transparent – reducing operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX), and improving business efficiency.
A multinational strategic partner agreement between IBM and Acopia was made public on February 13, 2007. Acopia ARX™ systems have successfully completed interoperability testing with IBM's Systems Storage N-Series products and have been confirmed as IBM System Storage Proven. IBM recently announced IBM Migration Services for Data, to help migrate clients’ data to IBM network attached storage systems (http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/21380.wss).
“We are delighted to participate in this year’s IBM PartnerWorld and with the opportunity it offers us to meet with customers and partners to discuss how Acopia ARX systems, integrated with IBM storage systems and IBM storage management software, can help customers more easily manage heterogeneous file storage resources, thereby boosting workplace efficiency and streamlining business processes – providing them with the ability to predict and/or respond more dynamically to market opportunities,” said Kirby Wadsworth, senior vice president of marketing and business development, Acopia.
