InovaWave, Inc., a leading provider of optimization and management software for virtual environments, today announced that it has earned the highest rating category of "Excellent" from InfoWorld magazine in its first review by the publication's Test Center.
In the independent review, titled "Fast and mean virtual machines," InfoWorld commended InovaWave for making "significant strides in improving I/O subsystem performance for virtualization workloads" and showing "what file systems of the future will need to do to successfully handle large-scale virtualization deployments."
"Our mission is to help organizations realize maximum value from their virtualization efforts by removing barriers to success, and performance is at the top of that list," said Founder and CEO, Terry Ferose. "InfoWorld's positive review of DXtreme is evidence our products deliver the virtual machine performance improvements required to increase server consolidation ratios and realize the full potential of virtualization."
Test Results
InfoWorld conducted the tests using three I/O conditions and MySQL sql-bench benchmark tests. Their I/O tests resulted in "speed boosts of nearly 5x for 32K streaming reads, nearly 7x for 32K streaming writes, and nearly 25x for 32K random reads/writes;" and their MySQL sql-bench tests resulted in "20 percent speed boost to the database" and "cut the time needed to complete the test suite from 3,281 seconds down to 2,598."
The review of DXtreme is available online at http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/05/11/19TCinovawave_1.html. DXtreme for 32-bit architectures used in this review will be demonstrated live, along with DXtreme for 64-bit architectures, at Microsoft TechEd in Orlando at InovaWave's booth (No. 1028).
