People have been interested in following it to see just exactly what this "real world" scenario would bring, aside from the hype and vendor promises.
The author Martijinl, an infrastructure coordinator for a large Dutch IT services provider, has been working on this project and offers the following end score and results. Describing savings from power consumption, cooling and real estate costs, it looks like virtualization answered the call and followed through with its promises.
