PlateSpin Ltd. today announced that the company has appointed Mike Sharma as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Sharma, who previously served as Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Platform Computing, will report directly to PlateSpin founder and CEO Stephen Pollack. Sharma will assume responsibility for managing PlateSpin’s day-to-day business operations, while Pollack will focus on the long-term strategic direction of the company.

Sharma has more than 20 years of technology industry experience. Prior to joining Platform Computing, he was President of Netscape Canada. He managed sales in the financial services and manufacturing industry verticals at Oracle Corporation (Canada), and held several management positions at Amdahl. Sharma has a degree in Computer Science and Data Processing from Mohawk College.

Over the past 12 months, PlateSpin has broadened its senior management team with the addition of Efrem Ainsley, CFO, formerly of Open Text, Chris Mureen, Vice President, Worldwide Sales, formerly of Surgient, and Israel Ben-Ishai, Vice President, Product Development, who previously held senior positions at NORTEL, Certicom, Bioscrypt and MGI Software.
