InovaWave, the leading provider of virtualization performance software, today announced that it was named one of
“10 Virtualization Companies to Watch
” in the August 20 issue of
Network World. The publication selected InovaWave for its ability to optimize performance and increase server consolidation ratios by eliminating the disk I/O bottleneck of virtual machines.
Although the virtualization market is experiencing tremendous growth, its continued success is currently restricted due in large part to performance limitations of virtualization platforms. By optimizing the disk I/O, InovaWave is the only software vendor that can improve performance by 25X and density of virtual environments by 2X. In the Network World article, Forrester Analyst Chris Voce says that InovaWave, “offers a [solution] today for companies that need the highest performance in a virtual machine.” The article can be read in its entirety, here.
“As organizations rush to virtualize their data centers, there’s been a corresponding stampede by vendors to bring server virtualization products to market,” said Chris Ostertag, CEO of InovaWave. “The fact that Network World has selected InovaWave as one of 10 virtualization companies to watch is a strong endorsement for our approach to overcoming the performance hurdles inhibiting adoption of server virtualization.”
InovaWave’s product line is a complementary component to VMware and Microsoft virtualization platforms, and is designed to optimize the performance of the virtual machines and the applications that run on them. The products work by reducing the disk I/O bottleneck common to most virtual environments. As a result, customers realize the following benefits:
- Increase in server consolidation ratios
- Broaden virtualization to include I/O intense applications (e.g., databases and messaging)
- Improve performance and reliability of existing virtual machines
- Greater cost savings from existing virtualization investments
