If you thought that VMware had enough cash to spend with its successful IPO, you might be right. However, don't forget, Intel and Cisco have also invested in the virtualization giant. Cisco is in for $150M, and now, Intel and VMware have finally closed on the Intel investment - giving them another $218.5 million to spend. From Intel's announcement:
Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment organization, today announced it has closed a $218.5 million investment in VMware. This investment was originally announced July 9.
"We look forward to further collaboration with VMware and congratulate the company on the success of its recent IPO," said Arvind Sodhani, president of Intel Capital.
