Scalent Systems V/OE Available Through EMC Select Program
Scalent Systems, the leading provider of server infrastructure repurposing software for large data centers, today announced that Scalent V/OE software is now available through the EMC Select Program. Through this program, customers can purchase Scalent's V/OE adaptive infrastructure software directly from EMC. Scalent V/OE makes it easier for data center administrators to make real-time moves to servers, adding greater flexibility to drive down costs and increase failover capabilities of data center systems.

The EMC Select Program helps customers easily acquire all the required components that comprise an information infrastructure. Scalent V/OE software is used for disaster recovery and test lab automation and enables customers to take their data centers from "dead bare metal" (powered off hardware with no software installed) to live (newly deployed or restored), connected (to network and storage) servers, in five minutes or less. Scalent V/OE and EMC networked storage systems and software together dramatically improve both Recovery Point Objectives (RPO / data integrity) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO / speed of recovery).

Today's data centers face escalating costs and reaction-time challenges stemming from out-of-control server sprawl, statically coupled server hardware, and increasingly stringent regulatory requirements for business continuity. These challenges result in a lack of IT agility in the face of rapidly changing operational demands, with correspondingly reduced bottom-line success. Unlike many traditional server failover or automation solutions, Scalent's software integrates with VMware ESX Server as well as EMC networked storage systems and software, including EMC® SRDF® (Symmetrix Remote Data Facility) remote replication software. Customers using a combined solution of these technologies can address an entire data center environment, not just an individual server "box." Using Scalent V/OE enables data center operations owners to rapidly change entire systems and associated topologies -- which servers are running, what software is running on them, and how they are connected to network and storage -- without altering physical infrastructure.
