MSI Systems Integrators Announces Managed Disaster Recovery for Virtual Infrastructure Offering
MSI Systems Integrators (MSI), a leading comprehensive solution provider of hardware, software and services, now offers a Managed Disaster Recovery Service for Virtual Infrastructure. This service leverages virtual infrastructure investments, rather than traditional hot sites or physical servers. To complement the offering, MSIs offering is co-branded with its strategic partner, VMware, and recognized in the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP).

The offering leverages VMware-based virtual infrastructures to replicate servers, applications and data which allows remote user connectivity and flexible testing alternatives. The result is common processes, manageable service levels and improved infrastructure management that ensures business continuity requirements are met. This variable, utility-based cost model helps organizations avoid capital expense and operational costs of secondary, redundant in-house infrastructure. This methodology brings additional value to the customer by addressing more than just risk mitigation, but focusing on true DR requirements that do not stretch internal resources and improving RTO/RPO relative to the traditional hot site approach.

This addresses the fact that the traditional hot site approach is inefficient. Many companies are undersubscribed, are paying a lot of money, and have a solution that may meet their disaster recovery and audit requirements, but may not truly have the ability to execute within the defined service levels, said Mike Fischer, executive vice president of enterprise solutions, MSI Systems Integrators. Our variable cost, utility-based model is targeted at addressing these issues head on.

MSIs VSPP certification allows its customers on-demand access to IT resources with VMware hosting solutions and virtualization-based services. Features include utility-based computing, virtualized dedicated hosting, server-based desktop management and disaster recovery. True customer value is achieved by finding ways to free up resources for mission critical projects through customer briefings that assess company requirements and priorities.

The VSPP allows the ability to offer customers immediate access to the proven benefits of virtual infrastructure as easily as flipping on an electric switch, said Jack Allen, hosting and service provider account manager, VMware. The customer gets production system availability not possible with traditional hosted offerings, as well as automatic data and systems protection and rapid recovery from failures, while paying only for the computing capacity they require at the time.
