(NASDAQ:RVBD), the performance leader in wide-area data services (WDS), and CommVault® (NASDAQ:CVLT) announced today that the two companies have teamed to provide customers with solutions to accelerate enterprise data performance. The combination of CommVault’s Simpana^TM suite of enterprise data and information management software and Riverbed’s wide-area data services (WDS) solutions gives companies of all sizes near-continuous data protection (near-CDP) capabilities to reliably, cost-effectively and securely protect remote office data.

Zycko, which distributes both Riverbed® and CommVault products, is a firm believer in implementing the technology best practices that they preach to their customers. As a Riverbed/CommVault user, Zycko utilizes the joint solution to optimize its own inter-site network activity, enabling a centralized application strategy and delivering continuous data protection.

In addition, the Steelhead appliances reduce any CommVault disk-to-disk backup data moved over the network by up to 88 percent, allowing organizations to more effectively leverage their existing bandwidth and avoid costly network upgrades.
