Centrify Joins Citrix XenServer Technology Provider Program to Deliver Seamless Active Directory Integration for Citrix XenServer
Mountain View, Calif. — Centrify Corporation, a leading provider of Microsoft Active Directory-based auditing, access control and identity management solutions for non-Microsoft platforms, today announced it has joined the Citrix XenServer Technology Provider Program and has added support for the Citrix XenServer platform version 4 in its flagship solution, Centrify DirectControl. (See related release: "Centrify Ships DirectControl 4; Further Extends the Power of Microsoft Active Directory to Manage and Secure Heterogeneous Environments.") Using DirectControl, XenServer administrators can now seamlessly leverage Microsoft® Active Directory® to centrally control access to their XenServer deployment and use DirectControl's cross-platform extensions to Microsoft Group Policy to globally manage key security and configuration settings on those servers.

"With DirectControl, administrators can now leverage their existing Active Directory infrastructure to have a single, secure password for their entire XenServer deployment, including the Windows and Linux virtual guests running on top of the XenServer platform," said David McNeely, Director of Product Management at Centrify. "By consolidating user authentication and access control for Citrix XenServer in Active Directory, Centrify DirectControl lets organizations easily add Citrix XenServers into their Microsoft infrastructure without increasing administrative overhead or introducing additional identity repositories."

"We are pleased to see Centrify release an innovative security solution that takes advantages of the rich interfaces we delivered in XenServer v4," said Benn Schreiber, Senior Director of Product Management for Citrix's XenServer product family. "Centrify DirectControl's ability to enable a common security model based on Microsoft Active Directory across a mixed Windows and Linux environment as well as our XenServer platform can help our mutual customers implement a more secure and well managed virtualized infrastructure."

Centrify DirectControl effectively turns a non-Microsoft server, workstation or device into an Active Directory client, enabling an organization to secure that system using the same authentication, access control and Group Policy services currently deployed for its Windows systems. By adding XenServer to the over 110 versions of UNIX, Linux and Mac OS X that DirectControl version 4 supports, Centrify enables IT administrators to reliably manage access to both the XenServer platform and to the Linux and Windows virtual guests running on it. They can therefore streamline account administration and increase end-user productivity with single sign-on to XenServer virtual guests via their Active Directory credentials. In addition, any configuration file for XenServer or a configuration file deployed on a Linux virtual machine can be centrally managed using Microsoft Group Policy and the DirectControl Agent on the target system.

Price and Availability

Centrify DirectControl 4 is available now and supports Citrix XenServer 4.0.1 Express, Standard and Enterprise editions. Pricing for DirectControl for XenServer begins at $350 per XenServer, with similar pricing for Linux virtual guests.
