NetworkWorld Review: FastScale Composer Suite

Tom Henderson and Rand Dvorak review FastScale Composer Suite for NetworkWorld magazine.

List price:$50000

Pros: Saves memory for VMs, reduces security footprint

Cons: No strong instance authentication, no user admin

Buying advice: With the ability to remove unnecessary code from virtual machines, Fastscale cuts away needless junk from virtual instances, making operating system and application instances lean and unencumbered by unused code. It can shoehorn many more atomic scaled-down virtual machines onto a VMware host licence than might normally be otherwise possible.

We have high hopes for FastScale’s combination of products as it cuts away needless junk from virtual instances, making operating system and application instances lean and unencumbered by unused code. FastScale’s product can shoehorn many more atomic scaled-down virtual machines onto a VMware host licence than might normally be otherwise possible.
