FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the market leader in disk-based data protection solutions, has announced that the FalconStor®
Network Storage Server (NSS-S12) was named #1 Virtualization Product in a CRN study of Virtualization Products that offer thin provisioning. Part market survey and part comparative review, the CRN Test Center study awarded the FalconStor NSS five out of five stars for ease of installation, features, ease of use, and management capabilities.
Built on the FalconStor IPStor® virtualization platform, the FalconStor NSS is a software solution that provisions virtual disks to hosts via Fibre Channel, iSCSI, InfiniBand, or NAS, providing enterprise-class performance, compatibility, reliability, and heterogeneous storage management. Data snapshots taken by the built-in FalconStor TimeMark® option can be used for data protection and recovery. FalconStor NSS uses thin provisioning and Capacity on Demand (COD) to avoid storage underutilization.
The CRN Test Center focused on the deployment activities and management options solution providers should be considering when designing the customer's storage solution. The testing focused on storage virtualization and thin provisioning technology in particular. Reviewers were particularly impressed by the flexibility of the FalconStor NSS.
“FalconStor has been offering heterogeneous storage virtualization solutions through the channel for the past eight years. As a result of our channel support and our winning technology, FalconStor has thousands of customers around the world,” states Wendy Petty, Vice President of North American Sales at FalconStor. “We are pleased to provide this winning solution to the channel, and to receive such high recognition from the CRN Test Center.”
“Chi Corporation made an active choice to partner with FalconStor because of the outstanding quality of their technology,” said Greg Knieriemen, Vice President at Chi. “The superior virtualization technology of the FalconStor Network Storage Server is testified to in its #1 ranking in the CRN product review.”
