ClearCube Secures New Round of Funding

ClearCube Technology, the market leader in centralized desktop computing solutions, today announced the company has secured five million dollars in funding to capitalize on the rapidly growing market for Sentral™, its VDI Management System software, and virtual desktop solutions. This first stage of a new round of financing, led by a current investor, Paladin Homeland Security Fund, L.P., will be used to fund new product development and expand ClearCube’s market leadership position in providing centralized desktop computing solutions.

The new funding is the latest in a series of corporate developments demonstrating the company’s strong momentum throughout 2007, including:

Strong Growth and Customer Success

•    Significant financial success: ClearCube achieved 38 percent business growth in the second half over the first half of 2007.
•    Solid market presence across multiple verticals: ClearCube has thousands of customers around the world in the financial services, government, education, healthcare, commercial and manufacturing industries.
•    Exceptional customer success: 2007 marked outstanding customer growth among existing customers such as ABN Amro, Allianz Life Insurance, AtlantiCare, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, McConnell AFB, NATO, Tyndall AFB, Wachovia and many others.
•    Growing channel: ClearCube shifted to a 100-percent channel focus, launching a new Global Partner Program to meet increased market demand for centralized computing and connection brokering solutions worldwide.

ClearCube solution partners increase revenues and profit margins by capitalizing on the rapidly growing demand for centralized computing solutions. Existing ClearCube customers benefit from enhanced support from both ClearCube and its partners.

“The ClearClube centralized computing solution has not only allowed us to ensure the required security and availability needed in our highly demanding environment, but it has allowed us to gain competitive advantage in the financial services marketplace through time-to-market with the performance of the solution,” said Jason Scott, EMEA head of technology services, Wachovia. “With the ClearCube solution, we are able to meet and exceed the computing needs of both our traders, enabling them to focus their resources on serving our customers and driving revenue for the company.”

Technology Innovation

•    Leading the virtual desktop wave: ClearCube was the first company to certify its PC Blade Solution for VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure ( VDI ) with VMware’s ESX on ClearCube’s R2200 blade. In addition, the company’s virtual desktop management system is now hardware agnostic with Sentral 5.6 VDI Management System, enabling virtual desktops delivered from other vendors’ hardware.
•    Shattering the distance barrier inherent to PC blade computing: In 2007, ClearCube introduced the I9400 series, user port devices that facilitate the first PC blade solutions to provide both dual- and quad-monitor, full-performance graphics via an IP connection over virtually unlimited distances. The company now offers a series of Teradici-based products that provide a high performance centralized computing experience over copper or fibre infrastructures.
•    Providing cutting-edge PC blade hardware: ClearCube has introduced new PC blade products, including the R1300, R2200, A1410 and R1350, which enhance the performance of centralized PC resources while allowing ClearCube’s solutions to work in a wide range of demanding customer environments.
•    Earning industry accolades: ClearCube won the VMworld gold award for Best Desktop Virtualization technology with Sentral 5.5.

“ClearCube is a clear innovator in centralized computing,” said Michael Rose, research analyst at IDC. “The company demonstrated this throughout 2007 by introducing its Sentral VDI Management system and new PC Blade hardware that enables high- performance computing functions while also looking to the future of centralized computing: desktop virtualization.”

“CDW has built its brand on delivering only the best technology and services to our customers,” said Bob Rossi, Sr. Director CDW Healthcare. “ClearCube is one of our partners, whose innovative centralized desktop computing solutions extend our value into the healthcare, federal and commercial segments, delivering those customers competitive advantage in their industries while enabling us to deliver the exceptional products and services they expect from us.”
