Devon IT to Feature Thin Client Terminals at Exclusive Virtualization Event
Devon IT, Inc., an alternative desktop solution company and the fastest-growing provider of thin client solutions, today announced their participation in a virtualization event sponsored by Datatrend Technologies, a leading IT solutions provider of server and storage solutions; and structured cabling services. The event will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Datatrend Technologies headquarters in Minneapolis, MN.

According to a recent report by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), data centers across the nation consumed 61 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in 2006 at a cost of $4.5 billion-twice as much as in 2000. A typical datacenter consumes about half the total power needed, but with virtualization companies can reduce overall IT costs, improve efficiency and manageability in their IT infrastructure.

There is an incredible demand for virtualization solutions, notes Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT. Server hosted desktops are the first step to simplifying a companys IT infrastructure and after virtualizing a desktop and server, the cost savings are incredible. We hope to leverage our thin client offerings with Datatrends packaged solutions in creating even more drive for this technology.

The event promises to provide attendees with real insights into the latest virtualization solutions and how they can leverage them in their environment. Datatrend, Devon IT, IBM and VMware will present on the BladeCenter S, virtualized desktops and Datatrends new - Virtualization in a Box Solution.
