AppDNA, the leading developer of application testing software, today announced that Fujitsu Services, one of Europe’s leading IT services companies, is using its AppTitude solution to assist in a major UK Government agency’s application migration programme, as it moves its core applications from Windows 2000 to Windows Vista with Microsoft Application Virtualisation (formerly SoftGrid).
Luke Denham, Senior Solutions Architect, Fujitsu Services said: “Through our partnership with AppDNA and the inclusion of the AppTitude product into our Vista migration proposition, we are able to offer our client an innovative, fast and cost effective solution that provides an extremely high level of reliability.” He continued: “The AppTitude solution provides a seamless automated application analysis platform which will dramatically cut our application testing programme from months to a matter of days. It provides all the information our application development and deployment teams need to make our applications Vista ready and sequence them successfully the first time, again saving us weeks or months of effort, not only for this migration project but through the ongoing application management process as well.”
AppTitude, AppDNA’s tool, uses testing algorithms to assess an entire organisation’s software portfolio in days rather than months. The customer receives a visual display of the compatibility issues they face, indicating whether an application will migrate and virtualise without problems. A detailed report is then supplied to address the specific areas in need of an eventual remediation, with detailed information highlighting the necessary ‘fixes’ needed to ensure an application installs and runs correctly under Windows Vista and Microsoft Virtualisation (SoftGrid).
Mike Welling, CEO, AppDNA, said: “Fujitsu clearly recognises the value of AppDNA’s extensive knowledge and experience of application analysis for OS migration and virtualisation, including the benefits passed on to the end user.” He continued: “Through this collaborative approach, Fujitsu and AppDNA are able to accelerate this time critical migration programme, as support for Windows 2000 nears its end and application virtualisation becomes a mainstream technology.”
