Certeon Announces Strategic Reseller Partnerships with Champion Solutions Group and Nth Generation
Certeon, the industrys first vendor to offer a virtualized appliance for application acceleration, today announces the addition of Champion Solutions Group and Nth Generation to its Partner Acceleration program as Regional Reseller Partners. These strategic reseller partnerships further Certeons presence and penetration in the application acceleration space while providing Champion and Nth Generation customers the ability to speed application delivery in an increasingly virtualized world. Unlike proprietary appliances for acceleration from other vendors, Certeons acceleration solution is software based and requires no additional hardware in the branch or data center. Certeon and its two new partners will be attending VMworld 2008 from September 15-18 in Las Vegas. Certeon will be demonstrating the performance of its aCelera Virtual Appliance for VMware at the conference.

Champion Solutions Group is a premier technology solutions provider specializing in comprehensive solutions and services that increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve application availability. To aid its installed base of clients, Champion chose Certeon to add the capability of application acceleration to its VMware-based virtualization design and implementations expertise. Through this reseller partnership with Certeon and deployments of aCelera, Champion will have the ability to extend its virtualization practice to its customers branch offices and provide the disaster recovery, high availability and application acceleration solutions vital to those branches.

At Champion, we understand that our clients application performance is critical to the success of their businesses, said Stan Kaplan, Director of Business Development, Champion Solutions Group. Having facilitated over one thousand VMware server virtualization implementations for 20,000 physical servers across almost two hundred clients, we believe the aCelera virtual appliance provides an important application acceleration solution for our clients and allows them to maximize their virtualization investments.

Nth Generation, a full-service IT engineering firm dedicated to helping clients protect, access and manage enterprise data, selected aCelera to fill the gap in WAN acceleration for its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions, remote office backups, and real-time replication solutions. Building on VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 (VI3), the VDI allows multiple user desktop software images to run as separate virtual machines on a branch or data center server. Nth Generation tested aCelera and witnessed an initial acceleration of approximately 200% for the first file copy, and then up to 2000% when copying the same user desktop software image again. By choosing aCelera, Nth Generation will be able to offer its customers the benefits of acceleration for internal client/server applications, as well as acceleration for VDI and remote office data protection solutions. Nth Generation's customers range from Fortune 500 companies to mid-tier organizations across various industries with a need to protect mission critical information while maintaining rapid, reliable and secure access. Nth Generation has designed and implemented successful IT solutions for over 600 enterprise clients.

After researching several top players in the application acceleration space, we chose Certeon for the flexibility of its virtualized appliance offering combined with its ability to add application acceleration to our enterprise solutions, said Dan Molina, Chief Technology Officer, Nth Generation. These are invaluable assets to our clients, especially for those who have already implemented virtualized infrastructures.

Acceleration delivered as a virtual appliance represents the future of enterprise IT because of the flexibility and scalability it provides. Were excited to help our reseller partners and their customers capture the value of this powerful combination of virtualization and acceleration, said Peter Dougherty, CEO of Certeon. As Champion and Nth Generations customers turn to embrace virtualized environments, we see aCelera playing a significant role in reducing application response time over the WAN, improving the productivity of end users and leveraging the value of their virtualized infrastructure.

In May 2008, Certeon announced the end of the era of proprietary application acceleration appliances with the launch of the industrys first and only true virtual appliance for application acceleration. Certeons aCelera Virtual Appliance software delivers up to a 95% reduction in application response time for applications being accessed across the WAN with the added benefit of eliminating the hardware footprint and high cost of separately managed, single-purpose hardware appliances. Certeon optimizes remote access for VMware ESX, ESXi, and VDI infrastructures, increasing user productivity and lowering operational costs.

Now in its fifth year, VMworld is a must-attend event for all IT professionals looking for actionable ideas, innovative products and best practices for virtualizing the enterprise from the desktop to the datacenter. The conference will be taking place at the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas. Certeon will be exhibiting at Booth #754.
