Catbird Named Best of VMworld 2008 Finalist for Security and Virtualization
Catbird, the pioneer in comprehensive security and compliance for virtual and physical networks, today announced that an independent panel of experts and editors selected Catbird V-Security as a Security and Virtualization Finalist for the Best of VMworld 2008 awards. This honor recognizes Catbirds unique value proposition as one-stop-shopping for virtual infrastructure protection.

Catbirds flagship V-Security solution is a non-invasive and comprehensive Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for virtual and physical networks. V-Securitys cross-platform coverage includes Rogue VM Quarantine; Network Access Control (NAC); Sprawl Management and Control; Intrusion Prevention (IPS) and Intrusion Detection (IDS); Policy Compliance and Enforcement; Vulnerability Monitoring; Auditing Compliance and Virtual Network Segmentation.

Finalists were reviewed and evaluated according to innovation, value, performance, reliability, and ease of use.

This is the fourth award this year for Catbird V-Security, noted Tamar Newberger, VP of Marketing at Catbird. As the trusted veterans in this space, we have been able to continually build product that directly meets the security and compliance requirements gathered from our extensive experience with virtualization users. These customers want broad-based protection for their entire virtual infrastructure, as well as assurances that their auditors will be satisfied. We are especially thrilled to have such recognition from TechTarget who are to be lauded for their early vision in educating their own reader base about the need for security in virtualized data centers.

Customers rely on Catbird for visibility, management and control of their virtual and physical networks. Unlike conventional host-based solutions, stateful appliances and proprietary hardware solutions, Catbirds unique, stateless architecture is fully SOA and cloud-based; 100% plug-and-play; web-enabled; and architected to have minimal impact on the virtual environment itself.
