Already known for saving customers precious time and money, KACE also helps customers save energy via industry-leading power management and reporting capabilities for its award-winning KBOX(TM) family of appliances. Today, KACE announced new power savings capabilities that enable organizations to save significant resources by dialing down energy consumption through unique power management policy templates, power saving enforcement and monitoring, and best practice guidance to turning off computers outside of business hours. In addition, KACE helps customers manage power settings in a scalable, policy-based manner, leading to lower energy costs, and eligibility to customers for utility company rebates.
Additionally, today KACE is announcing energy-saving rebate certification from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). PG&E is offering qualified KACE customers rebates of up to $15 per computer. To see if your company qualifies for the rebate, please go to www.pge.com/mybusiness/energysavingsrebates/ for details.
The PG&E rebate certification comes on the heels of KACE certification from BC Hydro, one of Canada's largest and oldest electrical utilities. The utility added the KBOX appliances to its Power Smart Program listing of approved products and also offers incentives for the purchase of any KBOX appliance through its Product Incentive Program to both businesses and schools in the British Columbia area.
"KBOX systems management appliances are quickly gaining prominence in the industry via innovative, energy-saving capabilities that benefit all," said Rob Meinhardt, co-founder and CEO of KACE. "The same appliance-based approach that has allowed medium-sized organizations to affordably implement sophisticated systems management is now also giving these organizations needed power management capabilities as well."
Supporting Mac OS, Linux, and Windows, KACE's appliance-based approach to systems management has built momentum the past year with multiple new product enhancements enabling better power management for its customers, including enhanced remote system deployment and management, Wake-On-LAN capabilities, and new virtual appliance offerings. Utility recognition proves KACE has the ability to significantly lower its customers' carbon footprint.
One such customer reaping significant power saving benefits is Royal Liver who prides itself on responsible business practice and innovation. The British insurance company chose KACE to help establish itself as a leader in green computing. Offering instant value and tangible ROI, the KBOX deployed in less than an hour and saves Royal Liver upwards of $120,000 yearly in energy usage savings.
"We selected KACE's technology primarily for its affordability, energy-saving capabilities, and rich functionality," said Mark McCann, IS Customer Support Manager at Royal Liver. "After deploying our KBOX Systems Management appliance, we realized its extensive toolset could also manage our IT assets with extreme detail, as well as manage our physical assets outside of the IT department."
