Stratus Technologies announced today that it has joined the Citrix Ready™ program by demonstrating that its Avance™ high-availability software solution is fully compatible with the Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure. This sought-after Citrix Ready designation is awarded to third-party products that have successfully met verification criteria established by Citrix in order to ensure joint solution compatibility.

Avance software, announced in June 2008, is Stratus’ first software-based high availability product. Using embedded virtualization and running on ordinary x86 servers, Avance provides levels of availability superior to, and without the complexity of, high-availability cluster solutions for Linux and Windows applications. Avance enables customers to create high-availability servers literally in minutes, and immediately benefit from the ability to create and manage virtual machines based on the Citrix® XenServer™ virtualization platform. The U.S. list price for Avance software, which comes bundled with the XenServer license for no additional fee, is $2,500 per server with a minimum solution configuration requirement of two servers.
The XenServer virtualization technology is fully embedded in the Stratus Avance availability software. This best-in-class solution makes Avance far superior to other products that require additional software licenses. As a result, Stratus Avance is the only software solution delivering both virtualization and high availability in one fully integrated package, delivering outstanding value to customers with limited budgets and manpower.
