Virtual Iron Gains Market Share in Legal Industry
Virtual Iron Software (www.virtualiron.com), a provider of enterprise-class server virtualization and virtual infrastructure management software, today announced the company is gaining market share in the legal industry as law firms and State Attorney General Offices use virtualization to improve operations and ensure business continuity. Mid-size firms Berman, Rennert, Vogel & Mandler (BRVM) and Goodell DeVries Leech & Dann (GDLD), as well as the Attorney General Offices of Maine and South Carolina, are all leveraging the high performance, full functionality Virtual Iron provides at a fraction of the cost of competitor offerings.

"It's all about containing costs while getting the job done. Virtual Iron allows us to avoid the bottomless pit of upgrading and maintaining multiple pieces of hardware, while improving the way the firm runs," stated Mike Ferguson, Director of Information Technology at Berman, Rennert, Vogel & Mandler, a Miami, Florida law firm specializing in general business and commercial law. "Virtual Iron is intuitive, easy-to-use, and a lot less expensive than VMware. Plus, Virtual Iron offers a rich set of features at a single, easy-to-understand price. We didn't need to pay anything extra to get all the functionality we required."

Baltimore-based Goodell DeVries Leech & Dann (GDLD) is also experiencing similar benefits. The firm's attorneys are aggressive technology users that require anytime, anywhere information availability in order to prepare for trial. With Virtual Iron and iSCSI storage, GDLD now has the high availability capabilities its users demand without the expense of clustering software. In addition, the business continuity Virtual Iron provides ensures they can recover data immediately in the event of a failure thus preventing the loss of any data for the firm's legal teams. GDLD has also reduced its hardware footprint and maintenance costs by moving to a virtualized environment.

"With today's challenging economic conditions, every industry is looking for a competitive edge. Many companies with a services-based business, including law firms, are focusing on improving client interactions. By enabling IT departments to improve system performance while drastically cutting costs, our customers such as Sachs Sax Caplan can offer a higher level of service to their clients without breaking the bank and spur competitive differentiation," said Ed Walsh, CEO of Virtual Iron.
