INX Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement to provide a complete data center solution with Community First Health Plans.
Community First Health Plans is a regional, locally owned and operated, non-profit HMO, established in 1995 specifically to begin providing health care coverage to the citizens of South Texas. As a non-profit managed care organization, Community First has an extremely low threshold for downtime in their systems and infrastructure, and is very sensitive to operational costs. Given these business requirements, Community First recognized the benefits and returns of a virtual data center solution.
The virtual data center will reduce the number of physical servers, consolidate data storage to capture efficiencies, and increase availability by leveraging virtualization technology and supporting infrastructure. The solution Community First is implementing will begin with a redesigned data and tape backup solution to increase redundancy and enhance business continuity, utilizing NetApp, BakBone and SpectraLogic technology. The remainder of the solution focuses on achieving a virtualized environment and creating a more robust network infrastructure in the data center. These components consist of a VMware ESX offering, a NetApp storage and recovery solution and Cisco System’s new data center infrastructure based around the Nexus platform.
Jeff Gross, IT Manager at CFHP said, “We are pleased that INX’s areas of expertise cover all aspects of our project and that they actively mapped the solution to our business needs. Their strategic delivery framework model showed us that INX is committed to providing a complete and successful solution.” INX was selected based on the ability to comprehensively design and implement a full lifecycle data center solution.
Andrew Cadwell, INX VP of Sales said, “We are pleased to have been selected by Community First for this project. This is the kind of mission-critical solution that allows INX to add maximum value to our clients and we are confident that our unique approach to the design and implementation will lead to a successful business outcome for Community First.”
