VirtualLogix, Inc.:
WHAT: Glenda Dorchak, recently appointed CEO of VirtualLogix®, Inc., and an industry expert in the mobile and embedded device segment, will discuss the growing challenge of security in consumer mobile products increasing content and services from a broad range of sources. OEMs and operators alike must manage this issue and VirtualLogix is one of the leading software providers addressing the problem through virtualization. Ms Dorchak’s presentation will address why the industry must create more secure operating environments for mobile users and how virtualization will enable products to be architected to protect critical personal and corporate data.
Ms Dorchak and other industry leaders will discuss the wireless security topic in a session called ‘Assessing and Solving the New Security Challenges Posed by Emerging Trends and Technologies’ at Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona, Spain.
WHEN: Wednesday, February 18, 2009, 5:30 p.m. Mobile Security & Protection Session
WHERE: Mobile World Congress 2009, Monday, February 16, 2009 – Thursday, February 19, 2009, Fira de Barcelona Conference and Exhibition Centre Hall 5, Auditorium 2, Barcelona, Spain
WHY: As mobile devices continue to proliferate throughout the enterprise, new security concerns are emerging. Few IT departments install security or access control measures for these devices and an increasing number of consumers are using the devices to pay for goods and services—making financial transactions unsafe as organized crime begins to target mobile computing devices.
Now, virtualization technology—such as VirtualLogix’s VLX virtualization software—allows multiple operating systems and their respective application software stacks to co-exist and interoperate on the same hardware. When device manufacturers incorporate virtualization technology into their designs, both enterprises and consumers gain new security capabilities that can protect interactions within an enterprise environment, as well as financial transactions. Virtualization enables complete separation and isolation of user authentication operations from the mobile OS stack to secure financial transactions. It also enables enterprise IT managers to introduce mobile, OS-independent device management policies that cannot be overturned by malicious software or even the user himself.
Glenda Dorchak will be available during the Mobile World Congress 2009 for press interviews. To schedule a briefing or a teleconference before or after the event, please contact vlx@schwartz-pr.com, or visit VirtualLogix’s booth, 2D49 (Hall 2.0), at the show.
