AppSense Expands U.S. Channel for Dynamic Personalization of Virtual Desktops

AppSense, the leading provider of user environment management solutions for the enterprise, today announced the addition of six U.S. channel partners, expanding its base of strategic U.S. resellers who sell its profiling and personalization solutions to organizations in industries such as healthcare, government, manufacturing and financial services.

The company also launched ChannelSense, a new program designed to provide partners with enhanced technical and sales support for AppSense solutions.

With these select channel partners, which include Convergence Technology Consulting, Cyberklix, Data Corp., Integral Networks, ITCO Solutions Corporation and Sequel Data Systems, AppSense now works with more than 50 U.S. resellers to deliver solutions that help customers save money today while setting the foundation for future savings through desktop virtualization. AppSense’s U.S. customers include JP Morgan Chase, Lowes, United Airlines, Wachovia, Wal-Mart, ESPN, and CB Richard Ellis, among others.

“The channel has always been a critical part of AppSense’s go-to-market strategy. Now with ChannelSense, we’re dedicating even more resources to help our partners expand their customer base and realize greater success,” said Tony Clarke, VP of Worldwide Sales for AppSense. “We’re extremely selective about who we partner with, focusing only on organizations that have strong IT consulting practices, tremendous technical expertise, and the desire to capitalize on the growing virtualization market. These partners recognize that, in order to remain successful, they must provide customers with both tangible ways to reduce costs now and a means to take advantage of the additional savings and flexibility possible by incorporating user personalization into their environments.”

“We were looking for solutions to build out our virtualization offering and differentiate ourselves in the market, and AppSense fit the bill perfectly,” said Chris Case, President of Sequel Data Systems, one of the largest enterprise-focused IT consulting firms in Texas. “Without a robust user personalization solution, VDI is simply not feasible for large-scale infrastructures. AppSense’s Environment Manager is the only solution that enables standard, pooled VDI environments to be personalized on demand, making it easy for customers to scale VDI while ensuring that the end user experience is exactly the same as with a traditional PC.”

The ChannelSense program provides AppSense VARs with more resources in education, marketing and technical support, as well as enhanced marketing and sales tools. One such tool is the ChannelSense ROI Analyzer that helps partners determine how much customers can save using AppSense solutions and at what point their investment pays off. Customers find that, typically, AppSense Environment Manager pays for itself within just a few months.

The only enterprise solution that enables standardized virtual desktop environments to be fully – and automatically – personalized, AppSense Environment Manager accelerates virtual desktop adoption by rapidly configuring desktops and applications with a user’s personal and policy settings without administrator intervention. It enables users to have the same look and feel, shortcuts and other settings on a virtual desktop that they had on their physical PC, while ensuring they adhere to company policies, such as accessing pre-determined printers, applications, networks, drivers and folders. And because it lets IT apply personalization across a variety of desktop and application delivery methods—such as VDI, Terminal Services, streamed applications and local and provisioned desktops—customers can save money today using their current infrastructure while ensuring future savings as their environment evolves.
