Caroline Serfass, CIO of Eli Lilly- one of the earliest and most successful adopters of cloud computing, is to present a keynote address at the Cloud Computing World Europe 2009 conference in London this November.
Caroline, who overseas the entire European operations, was voted as one of the most influential CIOs in the UK, according to silicon.com. She was also in the list of top ten women CIOs in the country. Her company, Eli Lilly, is a global manufacturer of pharmaceutical and animal health products which are sold in over 130 countries. Lilly, as it's popularly known, has successfully transformed the way data is stored and distributed within the organisation by taking cloud computing to the next level.
Caroline will be sharing Eli Lilly's story on why they decided to use cloud and how they planned and implemented the new strategy. In addition to that, she will provide crucial insights into getting the business case right and preparing for any eventuality before and after implementing cloud computing.
This year's event will also include global companies like GlaxoSmithKline, General Motors, Zurich Financial Services, Barclays, Deutsche Telekom, PwC, BT and many more, who will provide their unique verdict on cloud computing. Prior to this, the pre-conference workshop on SLAs, business assurance and contract negotiation will look to answer crucial questions about choosing and effectively managing vendors.
The Cloud Computing World Europe 2009 conference and exhibition will take place from the 9th to the 11th of November London. The full conference programme, exhibitor list and event updates are available at www.terrapinn.com/2009/cloud.
