VirtualLogix, Inc., a leader in virtualization technology, today announced that mobile industry executive Juha Christensen has been elected Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Christensen, who became an independent director in 2008, will work closely with the board and with Glenda Dorchak, the company’s Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, to guide the company through its rapid growth with VLX™ virtualization software for mobile and wireless solutions.
Christensen brings a wealth of experience to this position including his leadership with Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson and other companies to create Symbian in the late 1990s, and his position as Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Mobile Division.
“With our strategy to establish industry leadership for virtualization in the wireless and embedded segment, Juha’s deep mobile expertise and demonstrated leadership will prove extremely valuable in helping to accelerate VirtualLogix’s growth,” said Dorchak. “In the past year, since joining our board, Juha has been instrumental in introducing the company to partners as well as playing a key role in helping shape our strategic direction to win the mobile handset market.”
“VirtualLogix has invested behind a strategy that is already resulting in design wins with mobile market leaders,” said Christensen. “We are expecting remarkable success as more customers adopt and integrate the company’s technically superior virtualization solution for ARM-based mobile handsets and Intel-based mobile products.”
In addition to VirtualLogix, Christensen serves as Chairman and CEO of CloudMade, Chairman of Cogniance and board member of Teleca, the mobile industry’s largest systems integrator. He is a founding Partner at Progression Partners, and a founding venture partner at Sunstone Capital, a venture fund with approximately $750 million under management.
