VMLogix Doubles Revenues and Customers in 2009

VMLogix, Inc., a provider of virtual machine management solutions designed for software companies and IT organizations, today announced that the company experienced record growth in 2009, including doubling revenues and direct customers over the course of the year with hundreds of enterprises, ISVs and universities worldwide now using VMLogix solutions. VMLogix also expanded from a private cloud virtual lab management solution that works across multiple hypervisors to a public cloud solution with the release of VMLogix LabManager™ – Cloud Edition, which manages a virtual lab on Amazon Web Services.

In 2009 VMLogix also signed an OEM agreement with Citrix Systems to bundle VMLogix LabManager and StageManager into Citrix® Essentials™, offering both products for XenServer™ and Hyper-V™. The OEM agreement added VMLogix application lifecycle management capabilities to these solutions, providing users with a broad range of capabilities and the freedom to develop, test and stage software on multiple virtualization platforms. Since the agreement formalized, VMLogix has seen great traction with XenServer.

“In 2009 we’ve experienced accelerated penetration of key verticals like higher education and ISVs, and seen significant traction with new verticals like financial services and healthcare. Additionally, the scale of the Citrix distribution channel has allowed us to reach hundreds of customers globally in a very short period of time. This year we’ve also hit a number of important milestones including doubling our number of customers and introducing LabManager – Cloud Edition for Amazon Web Services, which was developed with the main goal of helping customers leverage the cloud for a more flexible, cost-effective lab environment,” said Sameer Dholakia, CEO of VMLogix. “We look forward to continuing this momentum in 2010 and broadening our cloud management footprint for traditional IT departments.”

What Customers Are Saying About VMLogix

“Cloud computing has the promise to deliver even greater efficiencies and cost savings to our development and testing environments,” said David Graham, CIO of Vignette. “We’ve used VMLogix to manage our on-premise virtual lab since 2007, and have had great success leveraging virtualization in order to cut costs and speed delivery of software applications. We are excited about Amazon Web Services’ cloud computing capabilities, and see it as the next logical step for our lab.”

“VMLogix LabManager – Cloud Edition is an efficient and comprehensive way for us to provide a test bed for students in our computer science classes,” said Gedaliah Wolosh, manager of computing resources at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. “Additionally, if and when our population and needs grow, VMLogix will make it easy and cost-efficient to scale-up our infrastructure in the Amazon EC2.”

“With VMLogix LabManager, we will be able to easily manage and automate the deployment of test environments in generally varied and large groups while controlling user access and specific capabilities,” said Antoine Hauck, system administrator at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. “These are huge benefits to our classes, students and IT administrators. Before, the method was manual distribution of VMware images to the students, which meant students had to have VMware Workstation software installed on their clients and that took a lot of our administration’s time.”

“We needed a solution for testing and development that was able to expand with, and accommodate, times where we have increased lab requirements,” said Rahul Subramaniam, managing director of gDev, FZ-LLC. “The new VMLogix LabManager – Cloud Edition offers the management tools and policy-governing abilities we need in order to effectively and efficiently collaborate in virtual labs in the cloud. It also offers the ability to control costs through shared infrastructure and audit trails to assign costs to users and teams.”
