Parallels Summit 2010 is Fast Approaching

Parallels is going to be kicking off their 5th annual Parallels Summit in Miami, Florida any day now.  The event begins next week, February 22-24, and I can't wait!  It takes place at the beautiful Fountainbleau Miami Beach Resort.  How can you pass that up?

Cloud technology and Cloud Services are a HUGE deal right now.  And this show couldn't have come at a better time to promote and capitalize on that.  Virtualization and the Cloud are two of the hottest things going right now in the IT world... as it should be.  And I plan on finding out more about both of these technologies while at this show.

I've been keeping up with Parallels from a virtualization perspective for many years now, talking about Parallels Desktop for Windows and Linux, Parallels Desktop for Mac, Parallels Server and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers.  But Parallels might have an even bigger presence in the Cloud Services market.  Hosting providers know them all too well thanks to the many products that help them complete the cloud services offering such as automation favorites:  Plesk Panel, Plesk Sitebuilder, Small Business Panel, Plesk Billing, Operations Automation and more.  And I hope to dig into each of these while at the show to get a better understanding of how they work.

Personally, I'm looking forward to hearing what Parallels CEO Serguei Beloussov has to say during his keynote.  I've never had the chance to hear him present before, so I'm excited.  I also have the opportunity to speak with Parallels CTO, Matt  Domo as well as founder and president of Service Providers Worldwide, Jack Zubarev.

One of the other great things about Parallels Summit is that it isn't just about Parallels, it is about the cloud.  And they provide access to a host of other companies in order to help you learn about launching new cloud services, best practices and optimizations for the cloud, how to build a revenue stream with the cloud, or figure out if you should build or partner with a hosting company.  If you have questions about cloud computing - this is the place to get answers.  And that's exactly what I plan on doing.

Outside of Parallels, there are so many other interesting people and companies to hear from: John Zanni, GM at Microsoft, Fran Rosch, SVP at VeriSign, Warren Adelman, president at Go Daddy,  Lance Crosby, CEO at SoftLayer, Jon Rolls, virtualization expert from Quest Software, and Igor Seletskiy, founder and CEO of CloudLinux to name just a few.  Check out the huge list of speakers.

My schedule is already jam packed, with great one-on-one conversations, keynote sessions, and really awesome breakout sessions like "Building a Scalable and Power Efficient Cloud Computing Infrastructure" with Tim Mueting, Product Manager, Virtualization Solutions, AMD, and "Reducing Costs at the Intersection of Cloud and Virtualization" with Shai Harmelin, Sr. solutions architect at Isilon.

Hopefully there will be some great information coming across their Tweet hash as well from fellow Twitter users using #ParallelsSummit.

It's not too late to sign up and register for the show.  I hope to see you there!
