Netronome Demonstrates 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps Flow Processing for Virtualized Servers and Network Equipment at RSA Conference 2010

Netronome, a leading developer of highly programmable semiconductor products that provide intelligent and secure flow processing for virtualized servers and network equipment, today announced that the company will be demonstrating solutions for 40 and 100 Gbps applications of the NFP-32xx Network Flow Processors and network acceleration cards. Featured demonstrations will include 40 Gbps line-rate deep packet inspection, 100 Gbps intrusion prevention systems and 10 Gbps inspection of encrypted communications. The demonstrations will be in booth 656 at the RSA® Conference, March 1-4, 2010 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

“Applications continue to evolve, requiring greater levels of throughput, intelligence and security from the network infrastructure,” said Jarrod Siket, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Netronome. “Netronome’s Network Flow Processors allow designers of network equipment to meet these demanding requirements in 100 Gbps L2-L7 designs without compromise.”

The products behind the application demonstrations include:

  • Netronome Network Flow Processors (NFP) – The NFP-32xx is the industry’s only processor specifically designed for tight coupling with multicore Intel® processors to accelerate network, security and content processing to 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps. They bring breakthrough performance to a broad range of demanding networking applications. Customer designs include shared service blades in switches and routers, 3G and LTE wireless infrastructure, security appliances and virtualized servers. Additionally, the NFP-32xx is the only line of processors backward compatible with the market-leading Intel IXP28XX.
  • Netronome Flow Engines (NFE) – The NFE acceleration cards provide 1, 10 and 40 Gbps interfaces for network and security applications. Featuring packet processing delivered from Netronome’s Network Flow Processors, the NFEs improve the performance of network I/O workloads, including deep packet inspection and bulk cryptography. The NFEs tightly couple with multicore x86 processors over a PCIe 2.0 interface with enhanced IOV support.
  • Netronome SSL Inspector Appliance – The world’s fastest transparent SSL proxy allows network security appliances to gain access to the context of encrypted communications. Powered by Netronome’s Network Flow Processing solutions, the SSL Inspector Appliances maintain line-rate network throughput with low latency. This ensures that common threats, such as spam, spyware, viruses, data loss and other forms of cyber crime are no longer able to bypass network and security appliances by hiding inside SSL traffic.
