Leading Analyst Firm Names Wanova a "Cool Vendor" in Client Computing
Wanova, Inc., a provider of distributed desktop virtualization software, has been named one of Gartner's 'Cool Vendors in Client Computing, 2010.'

Gartner analyst Terrence Cosgrove recently noted, "New approaches have emerged to managing the client that combine the isolation techniques of virtualization with localized execution. IT organizations should consider these in their client architecture and management strategic planning."

Wanova recently released its Wanova Mirage™ software, which helps distributed enterprises better manage, support and protect desktops and laptops, especially for remote and mobile employees. IT gains centralized control and single image management, yet end users get excellent performance regardless of network quality, and they can work offline, install applications and retain their personalization.

"Wanova's goal has been to give IT organizations the power to better manage, support and protect their remote and mobile users' PCs by delivering a truly innovative desktop virtualization architecture," said Michele Borovac, vice president of marketing at Wanova. "We are honored that Gartner has acknowledged our success to date, and look forward to delivering on this vision."

About Wanova Mirage Software

Wanova Mirage software centralizes the entire desktop contents in the data center for management, compliance and protection purposes, while distributing the execution of desktop workloads to endpoint caches for offline use and superior user experience. Wanova Mirage is unique for a number of reasons, including:

  • Optimized for remote and mobile workers, providing native performance and support for offline use
  • Supports single image management with persistent user personalization
  • Hypervisor-free (but supports execution in a hypervisor)
