Certeon, the leading provider of virtualized WAN optimization and application acceleration, today announced that nScaled Inc., a leading provider of cloud computing services, is joining Certeon’s global Partner Program as a provider of Certeon aCelera virtual appliance software solutions. nScaled has partnered with Certeon to offer its customers secure and optimized access to core applications delivered on nScaled’s VMware-based cloud computing platform.
nScaled Inc., is a provider of virtual data center resources (cloud computing) to clients with zero tolerance for data loss or system downtime. nScaled is focused on secure access and optimized delivery of its financial, legal, and professional services customers’ highly sensitive data. Together, nScaled and Certeon can help enterprise customers rapidly access remote core client applications such as Autonomy Document Management and Microsoft SharePoint. Certeon’s aCelera virtual appliances enable nScaled to rapidly deploy managed services that overcome the negative impact of the WAN on user response time between nScaled’s cloud computing environment and customer remote sites. The result is secure cloud computing services delivered as if the data was being accessed locally.
As a VMware Ready Virtual Appliance, aCelera software is designed to support the rapid deployment of secure cloud services. As software, it can be deployed and installed in minutes, automatically accelerating access to workloads on nScaled’s virtualized cloud computing environment. aCelera software also provides a more cost-effective solution than traditional hardware-based WAN acceleration products due to its ability be deployed in minutes, to support more accelerated connections than equivalent hardware appliances, and its ability to run on any VMware compatible hardware.
“We are pleased to be able to offer the next generation of WAN acceleration as a service to our customers,” said Mark Hadfield, chief executive officer (CEO) at nScaled. “Our partnership with Certeon reflects our continuing commitment to delivering critical systems and applications on demand to customers whose business reputation depends on the confidentiality and reliability of their information. Certeon’s software-based solution is an excellent fit with the critical requirements of our cloud service offerings and will be deployed on the nScaled MicroPod™ Appliance.”
aCelera virtual appliances enable enterprises and managed service providers to dramatically increase the performance of applications accessed over the WAN, improving application response time by up to 95 percent. aCelera’s network optimization capabilities also allow enterprises to reduce their network bandwidth requirements by up to 60%.
Certeon’s aCelera virtual appliance is hypervisor and hardware agnostic. aCelera software is available for industry-standard servers supporting VMware ESX/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or XEN hypervisors. aCelera provides customers with the unique ability to leverage their existing virtualization investments thereby lowering both capital and operational costs.
aCelera software helps IT managers deliver secure, high performance, scalable, and easily managed WAN solutions that leverage the virtualized system and management resources available within enterprise and cloud computing infrastructures. Independent test results from the Tolly Group show that Certeon aCelera software can support up to 50 percent more accelerated connections than proprietary hardware appliances.
“The deployment of mission critical cloud computing services can be negatively impacted by WAN delays between enterprise users and the cloud provider,” stated Peter Dougherty, CEO and president, Certeon. “aCelera’s performance, automated delivery, and scalability help nScaled deliver the full benefits of their secure cloud-based services.”
