Altor Networks, a leading innovator and provider of security for virtualized data centers and clouds, today announced that Altor’s security solution was awarded Interop Tokyo’s Best of Show “Grand Prix” in the Information Security category. Altor’s Japanese partner and distributor, Macnica Networks Corporation, nominated Altor’s software for the award in this highly competitive category. The Best of Show Award winners were selected from among the products and solutions exhibited by more than 300 companies at Interop Tokyo 2010. After a rigorous evaluation process, finalists were chosen by a panel of IT industry experts and the votes of exhibition attendees.

The Best of Show Interop Tokyo win comes directly following the Altor v4.0 launch announcement. Altor’s security software delivers unprecedented virtual environment visibility through virtual machine (VM) introspection, automated control and compliance in a package for comprehensive cloud protection.

The Tokyo Interop show attracts more than 140,000 industry influencers from all over the world and over 300 corporate exhibitors showcasing the latest in networking technology. The Best of Show “Grand Prix” award is given to the most innovative firms in 14 categories representing products, solutions, or services that change the landscape of information technology.

“We are honored to be acknowledged by the many judges and IT experts as the Grand Prix, Best of Show Interop Tokyo winner,” said Amir Ben-Efraim, CEO and co-founder for Altor Networks. “It is especially notable that security solutions for virtualization and cloud deployments have won ‘best of show’ awards at VMworld 2009, RSA 2010, and now Interop Tokyo 2010. This highlights the importance of securing these rapidly growing deployments with innovative solutions, purpose-built for this space.”
