Rooms To Go will use the CA NetQoS Performance Center, a key component of the CA Service Assurance portfolio, and CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers to improve the performance of its most business-critical, networked applications, and their supporting infrastructure. For example, Rooms To Go will use the two CA Technologies solutions to monitor and manage its point-of-sale (POS) application that provides immediate purchase-related information and fast credit application processing and approvals.

“The CA NetQoS Performance Center and CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers will help Rooms To Go be more proactive in ensuring a high level of service across our stores and improving the customer experience as a result,” said Jason Hall, director of IT systems for Rooms To Go. “Combined with our other products from CA Technologies, the CA NetQoS and CA Virtualization Management solutions will give us a more complete understanding of what is happening across our network and virtualized infrastructure and where we need to direct our attention to solve problems faster, prepare for future capacity needs, and optimize application performance.”

The CA NetQoS Performance Center will monitor how well the network delivers the POS application and others to the Rooms To Go showrooms, and pinpoints any bottlenecks to the network, server, or application environment for faster troubleshooting. In addition, Rooms To Go will use the CA NetQoS solution to understand how application traffic affects network performance, with views into the composition of traffic on every network link, and which applications and users consume bandwidth.

Rooms To Go selected CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers to help overcome several obstacles it faced in its virtualization rollout. The CA Technologies product will provide increased visibility into Rooms To Go’s heterogeneous physical and virtual environment. It also will provide a defined process for notification and escalation of problems. Centralized management will help Rooms To Go reduce its operations expenses and provide the ability to scale its virtual environment as the business grows.

Rooms To Go will also use the CA NetQoS Performance Center to quantify the performance of business applications accelerated across the network with Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) WAN optimization technology. With the Performance Center, Rooms To Go can measure infrastructure response times for Cisco WAAS accelerated applications with before and after analysis to provide consistent and improved application delivery to end users. In addition, Rooms To Go will use the Performance Center to determine where WAN optimization is most needed across the infrastructure.

Rooms to Go currently uses an integrated set of CA Technologies products, including CA eHealth® Performance Manager, CA Spectrum® Infrastructure Manager, CA NSM, and CA Service Desk Manager, to increase the performance and availability of customer-facing networks and systems, and reduce the time needed to make system changes.
