Aqua Connect, Inc., the provider of the only enterprise grade Mac terminal server, today announced their inclusion in the VMworld Conference and Expo. Through strategic partnerships and an increase in trade show presence, Aqua Connect has continued to expand into the desktop virtualization market.
While most of the technologies at VMworld center around virtualization practices, Aqua Connect brings a unique solution to the market. The Aqua Connect Terminal Server is able to deliver OS X desktops through terminal emulation to any device that is RDP, VNC or X11 compatible. A partnership with Microsoft allows Aqua Connect to license the Remote Desktop Protocol for OS X terminal services.
“VMworld represents a unique opportunity for Aqua Connect to bring our solutions to a greater customer base,” said Renee Mehrian, Executive VP of Aqua Connect. “The corporations and attendees at the conference are the decision makers looking for the latest in desktop and server technology, and we believe we provide the best option for Mac deployments.”
The ability to provide Mac desktops without virtualizing the complete Mac OS allows Aqua Connect to deliver the most cost efficient solution to Mac virtualization. Using a terminal server solution increases the scalability of desktop deployments when compared to other virtualization solutions. A single OS X terminal server enabled by Aqua Connect can scale above 200 concurrent users depending on application use.
VMworld will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California from August 30th to September 2nd. VMworld boasts the largest showcase of virtualization and cloud computing technologies in the country. Aqua Connect is nominated for the Best of VMworld Award in the desktop virtualization category. Demonstrations and representatives will be located at booth #540.
