Quest Software, Inc. continues this week a multi-city symposium on desktop virtualization featuring experts from Quest, Microsoft and HP. The half-day "Eliminating the Barriers to Desktop Virtualization Adoption" events are being held throughout North America through early December, with upcoming stops in Reston, Virginia; Toronto, Canada; and Irving, Texas (schedule below).
"While there's great demand for desktop virtualization, the market is plagued by conflicting messages and the reality is that no one vendor has a magic bullet for a complete solution,” said Carl Eberling, vice president and general manager, Virtualization and Monitoring at Quest. "This is a rare opportunity for users to learn how they can build a comprehensive solution stack to reap the benefits of desktop virtualization from the three industry leaders in desktop virtualization management, services and foundational infrastructure.”
Using real-world examples, Quest, Microsoft and HP will illustrate the importance of choice and flexibility in virtual desktop delivery. Quest experts will explain how the extensibility and freedom of Quest vWorkspace ensures an economical approach to desktop virtualization now and in the future. Microsoft experts will discuss Windows 7 migration topics and technologies for optimized desktop delivery, while Client Virtualization Solution Experts from HP will share best practices for planning, architecting, implementing, and supporting desktop virtualization.
“Businesses are increasingly considering desktop virtualization solutions, so we’re excited to work together with Quest and HP on these informative virtualization symposiums,” said Shanen Boettcher, general manager, U.S. server and tools marketing at Microsoft. “Our joint North American tour will focus on educating customers on the benefits of desktop virtualization adoption and Windows 7 migration.”
“Clients need a comprehensive, integrated desktop virtualization approach that increases the functionality of existing infrastructure and meets diverse needs,” said Tom Norton, global practice director, Microsoft and Client Infrastructure Consulting Services at HP. “As part of the multi-city symposia on desktop virtualization with Quest and Microsoft, HP will help participants understand the value in creating a strategy for architecting, executing and maintaining desktop virtualization.”
