Pano Logic Desktop Virtualization Recognized in SearchServerVirtualization.com 2010 Products of the Year Awards

Pano Logic, the leader in zero client desktop virtualization, today announced that its Pano System 3.5 has been named the Bronze Award winner in the Desktop Virtualization category of the SearchServerVirtualization.com 2010 Products of the Year awards. The awards are presented by the editors of TechTarget’s Data Center and Virtualization Media Group and products are judged based on ease of integration into existing environments, functionality, innovation, manageability, performance and value.

“In the 2010 virtualization marketplace, many technologies emerged that were innovative, cost saving or just downright functional,” commented one of the SearchServerVirtualization.com 2010 Products of the Year judges. “Despite the economic downturn of the past few years, the virtualization market has roared along. Virtualization technologies have provided IT managers with tangible and immediate ways to save on hardware and energy costs, augment data center flexibility, and even improve server management and performance.”

Judges selected the Products of the Year from among virtualization-related products introduced and shipped after November 1, 2009 and before October 15, 2010. Pano System 3.5 was commended for offering a true zero client that needs no patch management or firmware updates. The judges mentioned that the device will likely outlive most thin-client offerings, leading to a quicker return on investment and a more guaranteed total cost of ownership.

“We pride ourselves on delivering cloud computing’s promise to the desktop and this award provides great validation for the need of virtualized PCs,” said Parmeet Chaddha, EVP of Pano Logic. “This achievement is a testament to the power of creating a virtual desktop with a unique Zero client architecture that works independently of the underlying hypervisor.”

Pano Logic’s zero-client approach creates truly stateless end-user endpoints, and its management system is also a virtual appliance. The next-generation zero client devices are secure, manageable and flexible. Zero clients have zero footprint, so controlled access to information enables 100 percent data security and compliance at the endpoint.
